Arthur Goddard, CEO of SWIM Ltd, Resigns as TTRideshare Director to Launch New RideShare Venture

Arthur Goddard, Founder and CEO of SWIM Ltd, has officially resigned as a director of TTRideshare to launch his own next-generation rideshare venture.

The move signals a major shift in the regional mobility landscape, as Goddard brings his technology background and platform-building experience to a new, independent rideshare brand under his own vision and leadership.

Closing One Chapter at TTRideshare

As a director at TTRideshare, Arthur played a strategic role in shaping direction, governance, and growth initiatives for the company. His expertise in digital platforms, payments, and user experience contributed to strengthening the ride-hailing ecosystem in Trinidad & Tobago.

In his resignation, Goddard expressed gratitude and respect for his time with TTRideshare and its team.

“Serving as a director of TTRideshare was an honour,” Goddard said. “We did important work in proving that rideshare can work in the local and regional context. But I’ve reached a point where my vision requires full independence, and that means building something new from the ground up.”

The resignation was tendered in line with corporate governance standards and accepted by the company’s board.

A New RideShare Venture with a Different DNA

While details of the new rideshare brand are still under wraps, Goddard has shared some early principles behind the venture:

  • Driver-First Economics – fairer payout structures, transparent fees, and better support for drivers as partners, not just “users” of the platform.
  • Rider Safety and Trust – stronger identity checks, rating systems, and in-app safety features tailored for the Caribbean environment.
  • Integrated Payments – deep integration with SWIMPay and other digital wallets to make payments fast, secure, and fully aligned with regional banking realities.
  • Platform Intelligence – smarter matching between drivers and riders, improved routing, and data-driven incentives to reduce wait times and increase earnings.

“This won’t just be ‘another app’,” Goddard noted. “We’re building a rideshare ecosystem that respects drivers, protects riders, and plugs into a broader digital economy. It’s rideshare as part of a bigger vision, not rideshare in isolation.”

Leveraging the SWIM Ltd Ecosystem

Goddard’s new rideshare venture will not be built in a vacuum. It will sit within the larger SWIM Ltd ecosystem, which already spans:

  • SWIMPay for digital payments and escrow
  • Web and app development for businesses and marketplaces
  • Loyalty, rewards, and gamification systems
  • Booking, logistics, and automation tools

This means the upcoming rideshare platform can benefit from:

  • Faster development cycles using existing technology stacks
  • Built-in payment processing and dispute handling
  • Cross-integration with other SWIM-powered services, such as delivery and task-based platforms

The result is a rideshare service designed to plug seamlessly into the wider digital economy rather than sit on its own.

Why Arthur Chose to Step Away

Leaving a board seat is not a light decision, but for Goddard, it came down to clarity of purpose.

1. Full Entrepreneurial Control

As a director, Arthur had influence; as a founder, he will have control. This allows him to:

  • Move faster on product decisions
  • Experiment with new models (e.g., subscription rides, loyalty tiers, or driver equity-style rewards)
  • Align long-term strategy with his broader SWIM vision

2. A Fresh Slate for Innovation

By starting from zero, the new venture can:

  • Adopt modern architecture and design patterns from day one
  • Implement flexible regulatory and compliance frameworks for multiple territories
  • Build with scale and expansion markets in mind from the beginning

3. A Bigger Vision for Mobility

Goddard’s ambition is not just to move people, but to rethink how mobility fits into everyday life – including work, deliveries, tourism, and on-demand services.

“Mobility is more than a ride from point A to point B,” he said. “It’s about how people access opportunities, earn income, and navigate their lives. This new venture will reflect that wider reality.”

What This Means for the Market

Arthur’s resignation and new venture create:

  • More competition in the rideshare space, which can drive better prices and features
  • More opportunities for drivers to choose platforms that align with their needs
  • More innovation around payments, loyalty, and safety in the regional mobility sector

It also reinforces a broader trend: Caribbean founders are not just participating in global tech models—they’re reimagining them for local and regional realities.
